The wall decoration with drywall is a very convenient way of repairing, since the wallpaper or painting of the wall is not required for special preparation, and all this can be done immediately on the surface of drywall sheets.
Drywall or dry plaster are thin gypsum sheets, which are covered on both sides of very durable cardboard. In the industrial version, they are made of various sizes and are divided into moisture resistant and ordinary. For the interior wall decoration, as a rule, a conventionaligyptoncard is used.
Hypsum cardboard sheets are attached to wooden surfaces using self -tapping screws or nails with wide hats. If you use self -tapping screws, it is very convenient to screw them into the wall using an electric drill, into which a nozzle is inserted instead of a drill in the cartridge. In the process of wall decoration, the nozzle is fixed and the drills are attached at low speeds of the drill, pre -chopped in the desired size, to the wall, to the wall.
For cutting the required size, on one side of the drywall, the cut line is carried out with a pencil, and using a knife for cutting paper, the top layer of cardboard is first cut, and then, turning the sheet, the lower layer. After which the sheet is broken and it is ready for the interior decoration of the walls with drywall. One person may well cope with this procedure for preparing the material.
It is necessary to attach plasterboard sheets in the middle and along the edges, while the distance between self -tapping screws or nails should be about 15 – 20 cm, and in the central rows of fastening about 30 cm.
Stages of finishing with drywall
To carry out such a stage of repair, such as wall decoration with drywall, on the surface of the wall you need to make a frame of slats and bars, and their width at the junction of the sheets should be at least 8 cm. It is recommended to nail vertical rums and bars to the brick wall in the seams between masonry with nails 70 – 100 mm. In the case when a very solid solution was used for laying bricks and it is impossible to drive a nail, it is necessary to drive wooden plugs into the wall, for which holes with a diameter of about 10 mm are made. In the case of using dowels, which consist of a plastic and metal part, the size of the hole in the wall should correspond to the diameter of the dowels.
Perfected sheets can be attached to each other close to each other, and if uneven joints are obtained, it is recommended to leave a gap of about 5 mm between the sheets in order to further close these seams.
Only after the frame has been installed, the decoration of the walls with drywall continues the direct process of fastening the sheets.
In the process of wall decoration with drywall, after attaching them to the frame, an air gap is formed between the wall and the sheets equal to the thickness of the frame. It is this layer that helps to increase sound insulation and heat resistance.
