For high -quality fitting of wallpaper, it is very important to observe the correct gluing technique. The first strip of wallpaper, you need to stick strictly vertically, for this it is necessary to use a plumb line for the wall. Because the corners of any room will never be strictly vertical, it means to use them as a vertical landmark is not recommended. This often leads to errors and discrepancies in the picture. The pattern applied horizontally will go up, and the canvases will actually not be vertical, which is especially noticeable in skirting boards and ceiling.
The wallpaper glue dries very quickly, especially on the sides, which means to obtain a positive result, you need speed of work. If the walls are painted, glue is often squeezed out from under the wallpaper and it must be washed. It is necessary to keep all the necessary tools under the hand, for example, in a special apron of the cabinet.
You also need a staircase and free space near the wall during work, for its movement. Do not forget about compliance with the simplest safety rules, when working.
Coming of wallpaper. The neighboring canvases of almost all wallpaper, you need to adjust according to the drawing, not counting the decorated with vertical stripes or texture. Patterns are divided into two main categories, diagonal and even. Often, to facilitate work on the sticker, the category is indicated on the back of the wallpaper. But, without this, it is possible to determine the difference without this: if from both ends of the wallpaper, the elements of the pattern are placed strictly opposite, relative to each other, then we are dealing with the wallpaper of “direct fit”, and all other patterns are “diagonal” fitting.
Fitting of wallpaper canvases according to the drawing. Glue the first lane, then from the same roll, rewind a piece of wallpaper and try it on the wall next to the first strip. Get a complete combination of ornaments, moving the strip. On the edges of any strip, there are small elements that help to fit pieces of wallpaper.
A flat fit of wallpaper. In this type of ornament, the pattern is placed along the entire width of the wallpaper, therefore, after the adjacent pieces are carefully fitted, the pattern along the entire wall will be repeated horizontally from the strip to the strip. There are drawings that consist of small patterns repeated in the horizontal direction along the entire width of the wallpaper strip, through some gaps. In this case, the adjacent stripes will be similar in any case.
Diagonal fit. For this type of ornament, a drawing that goes beyond the boundaries of one strip is characteristic. In most cases, there is a drawing when on one strip of wallpaper, the lower part of the picture, coincides in the adjacent strip with the upper part of the same drawing and vice versa. Thanks to this method of placement, the pattern is repeated obliquely, so the fit is called the “diagonal”. To simplify the fitting of wallpaper with drawings, designers are often located along the edges of the strip, any small element of the ornament of the wallpaper.
